New project from Ico team will take time
Speaking to UK magazine gamesTM, Fumito Ueda, boss of the team behind Ico at Sony, has said his unannounced PS3 project is still at the pre-'critical' stage. This means the title remains a distant prospect.
"Production has not reached the critical stage. The company is very reasonable thanks to my achievements in the past. So, although I do get pressurised, that’s not happened yet, and that’s something I feel gratitude for, that the company gives us the opportunity to focus by giving us time."
Ueda also worked on the acclaimed Shadow of the Colossus on PS2, but details on his new project remain scant. That said, he is titillated by the prospect of a PSN side-project.
"As long as time permitted and I had the opportunity, yes," the designer replied when asked whether a PSN title would be of interest.
