Handheld outing says bye-bye
Word on the street today has it that publisher THQ has pulled the plug on the handheld PSP version of Destroy All Humans! Big Willy Unleashed.
Apparently, because the handheld version was being ported from the Wii console, it suffered from a number of serious control problems when paired-down onto the PSP. These issues were so crippling the game had to be canned entirely, it would seem.
"Basically, the PSP version was cancelled because of control issues," confessed a THQ spokesperson, talking to IGN.
"Big Willy Unleashed was designed by Wii developers specifically for the Wii. When it was ported over to the PSP, the controls simply didn’t translate well, and instead of pushing out the product with translated controls, it was cancelled."
The game is still coming to the PS3 and Xbox 360, later this year.
