New Blizzard MMO confirmed, kept secret
No details yet to keep competitors at bay
Blizzard big-wig Mike Morhaime has told investors in the game maker that word on the firm's new MMO project will be kept secret for the time being, in order to stop the competition stealing a march on the developer.
Morhaime was speaking at an Activision Blizzard conference call last week, and said: "Blizzard has begun staffing on another unannounced massively multiplayer online project but for competitive reasons, we are not able to share any additional information on that project at this time."
Rumours abound that the new title could be a 'World of Starcraft' style spin on their popular space-based RTS series. There's also also talk of a visually-enhanced World of Warcraft in the pipeline, although we're not expecting anything on this until the Lich King add-on arrives this winter.
We'll keep our noses to the ground for word on this.
