PSP internal storage on its way?
Jack Tretton says it's "increasingly likely"
Fresh from launching the new storage card pace eating Go!View video download service for the PSP it seems Sony may at last be taking on board the idea of a PSP hard drive of some sort. According to Kotaku, Sony US boss Jack Tretton said "I think we definitely thought about it, I think that's the trend moving forward." during a round-table interview at E3 yesterday.Storage cards, while undoubtedly handy, don't always offer the storage capacity required by today’s ever increasing array of digital downloads. So, to hear that some kind of internal storage in future PSP iterations is "increasingly likely" will come as welcome news to those keen to embrace the new content. Interestingly Tretton was also quite candid on the subject of the 'success' of the UMD movie format. As well as admitted that to call it a struggle was "an understatement" while laying the blame for the problems at the feet of the movie studios who expected consumers to pay USD 20 or USD 30 for "crappy movies with less content".
