Bloomberg are today citing Signal Hill analyst Todd Greenwald as stating that there are now more reasons to buy a PS3, rather than an games console.

The two formats are locked in a tussle for the hardcore gaming market, while runs away with the crowd, both firms claiming victories in different parts of the world.

"For the first time since the console launched, I really think there’s more reason to buy a than the 360," the influential exec advised.

Microsoft were of course rather put-out by this statement, MS spokesman David Dennis retorting: "This race is far from over and we are confident that we have a winning strategy."

Microsoft will outline their future plans in an E3 briefing later today.
