It was revealed late today that Scandinavian multinational Nokia are to purchase Sega's division, Sega.com, Inc., including Sega's Network Application Package - which the world's number one mobile phone manufacturer say they will use to form the core of a online games service.

Of course, the company has it's forthcoming mobile/gaming handheld in-mind with this acquisition, which will be used as the technological base for wireless game matching.

The N-Gage is set for a release on October 7th, the terms of the deal are unknown. commented that it would continue to focus on the and publishing of new games -includes titles for the N-Gage.
