PSP back on top in Japan
DS and Wii chasing
The latest MediaCreate Japanese hardware figures are out, covering the week-ending July 6th. Despite expert predictions that the Wii might once again emerge on top, its the PSP and - we imagine - Monster Hunter that have the last laugh on this occasion.
The PSP leads the charge with sales in excess of 56,000 units, the DS Lite second with over 47,000 units.
The Wii is surprisingly off the pace in third, with 44,500 sales, the PS3 a distant fourth with over 14,000 sales. Next up is the PS2 with nearly 12,000 units sold.
The Xbox 360 is miles away, of course, but is apparently picking up slowly, having generated nearly 5,000 sales over the week under the microscope.
