Hot Coffee case sees less than 3,000 claim

Despite a legal battle lasting years, only a few thousand people have actually claimed for compensation based on the Hot Coffee content unlocked following the release of Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas.

The controversial content, a veritable storm at the time, saw your character have sex with a young lady; this hidden content riling politicians, Jack Thompson and certain members of the gaming community.
A case was filed against Rockstar over the content, and while those behind the suit eventually won, only 2,676 people were sufficiently offended enough to put in a claim for up to 35 USD in compensation. The game sold upwards of 20 million copies.
"We can't guess as to why now, several years later, people care or don't care. The merits of the case were clear," responded lawyer Seth R. Lesser.
