BBC scoop new Driver game?
Who said the mainstream media is out of touch?
It looks like the Driver franchise could be set for a re-appearance if a sneak peak behind the scenes at developers Reflections is to be believed.
A BBC report on the state of game development in Britain saw correspondent Rory Cellan-Jones visiting Reflections Newcastle studio where he began his report by saying "So this is a typical games development studio, It's in Newcastle and it's Ubisoft Reflections and they're best known for this game: Driver."
"And they're working on a whole new version here in the studio."
The report then follows Cellan-Jones as he's given a guided tour of the studio by boss Gareth Edmondson during which he gets a glimpse of artists and animators working on various car models.
Further footage seen indicates a rather more cartoon esq. look to things than Driver fans will have been used to and Ubisoft haven't officially announced anything just yet, but with numerous previous hints that a new Driver game is on the way it seems more than likely this report is indeed offering a brief glimpse at a new Driver title.
