Mass Effect to boast serious anti-piracy

Following a number of high-profile stories of late surrounding the volume of piracy flooding the PC platform, and sometimes making games inviable, EA have announced some weighty anti-piracy measures for Mass Effect on the format.

We're told the RPG from BioWare will only allow activation on three occasions, while the game will also self-check every 10 days.
SecuROM was apparently used in BioShock as well, and it requires the user to call customer services if the game needs to be activated more than three times. The system also re-authenticates the game via the net every 10 days, although you won't require the game disc in at all times to play.
CD key data will however be used, and EA clearly feel this will help prevent the mass piracy seen with releases like Crysis.
