Word in from Computer Entertainment America reveals that the PlayStation Store will be offline for the majority of today (April 14th). Sony assure us that other related services will be unimpacted.

The store will be unavailable from 8am Pacific Time, until 11pm. "Scheduled maintenance" work will be undertaken during the down-time, the PlayStation Store also being upgraded.

The new-look Store promises a slicker, faster menu, designed specifically for the service itself rather than being browser-based. The Store will also reorganise content in an easier to browse manner.

More on this as we get it.
