WiiWare DLC exposed
In-game items downloaded (in Japan)
The Wired blog have this week revealed how the new WiiWare (Wii Software, in Europe) shop channel will work with downloadable content.
Taking Square-Enix's Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: My Life as a King, as an example, we're told to grab the latest version of the game itself from the Wii Shop for starters.
This update will offer us up the "Download additional content" option in-game, from where we'll be taken to a download list.
This list reveals all the items on offer, and how many Wii Points they cost. Your points total before and after any prospective purchase is displayed, and we're also told how many memory blocks are needed.
Downloaded objects should be available in-game after download is complete, and in FF's case there's a roster of expensive goodies to be had. The WiiWare release costs 1500 points anyway, and add-ons including new characters can total nearly as much again.
WiiWare is out in Japan as of now, but we've no word on when the service will hit Europe.
