Microsoft have today hit back at Live's all-too numerous cheaters, striking down those deemed the "most serious" offenders - namely those rigging their Gamerscore and Achievements results.

Naughty cheats will see their Gamerscore reduced to zero by way of retribution.

Beyond cheaters seeing their scores cut to nothing, players will be unable to regain lost achievements and Gamerscore. They will however have the ability to earn Gamerscore fair and square in the future.

Cheats will also be publicly shamed as such via Xbox.com labeling - warding other members of the community off those that don't play by the rules.
