The Witcher 3 to ship DRM-free on the PC
CD Projekt RED continues their quest to eliminate invasive digital rights management from PC gaming by announcing that The Witcher 3 will be DRM-free on the PC from launch.
The studio has always regarded DRM as a hindrance to PC gaming a believes that it causes as much piracy as it solves.
CEO of the Polish studio, Marcin Iwinski said, "I'd like to say it loud and clear: The PC version of The Witcher 3 will have absolutely no DRM from day 0. Zero. Zip. Nada. It doesn't matter if you choose to buy it on GOG.com and support us directly or buy the game in box format, you'll still get the 100% DRM-free experience. And this goes for the whole world."
The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is due out on PC, PS4 and Xbox One some time in 2014.
