BioShock 2 officially confirmed
Yes, says the man from Take-Two...
Publisher Take-Two Interactive have this evening revealed that BioShock is in development and will be released in quarter four of the 2009 financial year. This means October to November 2009, in real words.
The announcement by the publisher also reveals that 2K Boston are not the developers of this big-name sequel, which is instead being crafted by 2K Marin - a new Californian studio only formed recently.
BioShock has so far sold a whopping two million copies globally, and has won over the pundits, as well as gamers. Take-Two's Marin branch was created with the promise that they would work on triple-A franchises, and they're certainly kicking-off in auspicious style.
We'd now of course like to know what Ken Levine and 2K Boston are up to, given the excellence of the first BioShock.
No platforms have been confirmed, but the original game was launched on the PC and Xbox 360. More on this as we get it.
