Nintendo have updated the Wii's firmware, the software that lies at the heart of the console's functions and settings, the new version having been rolled out via the WiiConnect24 service while we were all sleeping Monday night.

According to word from Nintendo, the new update should usher in improved performance from the Wii, as well as fixing a few minor bugs most users had probably never noticed in the first place.

This was update 3.2, we're told, although no one's noticed any real changes with the since its arrival. Have they?

We'll keep you posted on the off-chance...
