Nintendo Network chief Takashi Aoyama has spoken at the Game Developers Conference of Nintendo's continued efforts to improve the services offered to gamers.

Part of the platform holder's ongoing efforts could see gamers having to pay for certain elements of the Wii's online services.

Wii Pay & Play was mooted by Aoyama, the boss explaining that "collecting fees for some services will allow us to adapt flexibly." Game-by-game subscriptions are apparently the plan, with such games clearly de-marked online.DLC for both online (WiiWare, etc.) and off-line Wii games. This could cover the likes of III, we're pleased to report.
