Xbox 360 passes 18 million units
Speaking at the GDC in San Francisco, speaker John Schappert has said that the Xbox 360 has now sold in excess of 18 million units worldwide.
"I think that we've sold 18 million, the last time I've checked. 18 million hardware units worldwide," he told Eurogamer.net in a new interview.
The boss also admitted that Microsoft hope to improve their installed base in "certain" regions, such as southern Europe. "I think that there's regions of Europe where we're not doing as well as we'd like to do, and we have room for improvement. Those are renewed areas and key areas of focus for us."
The big cheese added that a Blu-ray drive for the 360 was unlikely, MS learning from the failure of the HD-DVD peripheral. "We have no plans to announce or anything like that right now. But I'd also urge you to look at the attach rate for the HD-DVD drive."
Schappert also promised more original Xbox Live Arcade games in the future. More on this soon.
