Square Enix have filed fresh lawsuits against toy makers who stand accused of making fake replica swords based around those seen in the publisher's Final Fantasy titles.

The Japanese giant is apparently out to stop manufacturers making illicit use of their brands for money-making pursuits.
"We are actively pursuing those who commit intellectual property infringement against our company," commented general counsel Yasuhiko Hasegawa.
"Any illegal activities, including the sale and distribution of unauthorized replica merchandise and counterfeit jewelry, and the unauthorized copying of Square Enix games, music, movies, images, and other intellectual property, will be prosecuted."
