Electronic Arts have confirmed this afternoon what we'd suspected for some time, namely that former exclusive is being developed for the platform.

BioWare's acclaimed sci-fi will be released stateside in May, with controls revised to take advantage of keyboards, mice and other PC trinkets.

You'll be able to assign skills and the like to hot-keys, with re-mapping also possible as you wish. There's a new interface and an inventory system for gamers to get to grips with too, and we're also told to expect "higher resolution visuals".

A new decryption mini-game is mooted, as well.

While will publish this PC version as owners of BioWare, a deal has been struck to keep Mass Effect exclusive to the 360 console.

"EA has struck an agreement with to handle future publishing for Mass Effect," explained EA Games boss Frank Gibeau. "We are looking forward to releasing Mass Effect on the PC this Spring and brand new titles in the future."

More on Mass Effect soon.
