Microsoft have assured today that the new exclusive version of Bango-Kazooie is set for release during 2008, despite rumours to the contrary.

Rare's game is apparently "on target", with affirming that no plans have changed.

"As announced at E3 last year, the next installment in the popular Banjo franchise is still on target for 2008," a spokesperson offered.

"We share the excitement of Banjo fans worldwide as anticipation 'builds' for the game's release later this year."

Shane Kim told DICE attendees this week that the new Bango "is going to be a big hit for [Microsoft] this holiday".

We're hoping for more details on this illusive new game soon.
