Dark Souls II sells 1.2 million in Europe and North America

Player deaths can now be measured with scientific notation

Dark Souls II has managed to reach a rather impressive sales milestone.

According to the Namco Bandai's annual financials Dark Souls II managed to sell 1.2 million units in the three weeks leading up to the end of the financial year.

This number doesn't include the sales from Japan, where the game is self-published by developer From Software. By comparison, the first Dark Souls game sold 1.5 million copies in its first month. Dark Souls II sells 1.2 million in Europe and North America

To date, according to the Dark Souls II player site, players have died a over 388 million times across PC, PS3 and Xbox 360.
