Microsoft will address the Xbox One 720p complaints, just not right now
Xbox One director of product planning has stated that he will address the issues surrounding the revelations that both Battlefield 4 and Call Of Duty: Ghosts will be rendered at 720p on the console.
Both games will upscale to a 1080p output but it represents a fairly significant difference in performance between the Xbox One and the PS4 which will render CoD at native 1080p and BF4 at 900p.
Penello made the concession in response to calls for him to address the visuals on NeoGAF saying, "I'll be back. You're right, I should talk about it. But right now, still lots of info to come out. Once the dust settles, and all the information is out there, I'll address my comments."
"I get a ton of hate for saying this – but it's been the same EVERY generation. Sony claims more power, they did it with Cell, they did it with Emotion Engine, and they are doing it again. And, in the end, games on our system looked the same or better," Penello added.
It is worth pointing out that these are both brand new consoles and developers have been reporting that they have been experiencing problems with the GPU drivers especially on the Xbox One which has most probably led to Infinity Ward and DICE settling for upscaled 720p visuals as they will give the smoothest player experience.
