The creators of graphics software 3DMark, Futuremark, have today announced plans to start a new game studio - responding to calls from PC gamers for some homegrown titles. Naturally, a focus on technology is promised.

"For years, our fans have been asking us when will we start making games," beamed Tero Sarkkinen, CEO of the new Futuremark Games Studio. "Very soon they are going to get it - and then some!"

New IPs will be fostered by the new studio, who promise ace gameplay alongside "blow-your-socks-off visuals." Futuremark have in the past created demos and benchmarking software designed to show-off PC technology. That said, we're told to expect "stellar performance even on modest platforms right up to the most enthusiastic levels of performance hardware".

Hopefully Futuremark will reveal more at the GDC next month.
