Call of Duty 4 2007's best-seller
Seven million copies sold worldwide
The latest figures reveal that Activision's Call of Duty 4 was the best selling game worldwide during 2007. Collated numbers from research firms NPD, Chart-Track and GfK indicate that the game sold more than seven million copies since the game was released in November last year.
"Consumer and critics agree that Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare is one of the best games ever... This ground-breaking game and franchise continue to establish new standards by which all other action games will be judged," offered a clearly pleased Acti chief Will Kassoy.
A Call of Duty 5 is now a sure bet, then, with rumour on the grapevine hinting that Activision are considering a return to the series' origins with a game set during WWII, or thereabouts.
