Warren Spector inspired by Golden Compass

Veteran game maker Warren Spector, Deus Ex creator and all round nice guy, is disappointed that he hasn't been involved in the creation of a Golden Compass game. The designer is apparently a major fan of Philip Pullman's Northern Lights novels.

"I've been waiting for Philip Pullman's His Dark Materials series to hit the big screen for years. I really wanted to make the game, long before the film came out, but that's another story," the designer told his blog.

Sega were ultimately responsible for the games based on this first movie release in a hoped-for trilogy, and given that the end results were somewhat mixed we can understand Spector being disappointed that he couldn't be involved.

Presumably some of the trilogy's fans might also feel the same way.
