CVG are today reporting that a merger between and SCi-Eidos could be on the cards.

SCi has been seeking offers since last year, and has already been linked with a number of larger publishers, the firm keen to increase its clout in an rife with consolidation. Midway is apparently one of the interested parties.

Neither firm have commented on the speculation, but it is known that back in 2003 talks were held between the firms, since when, Midway's value has fallen dramatically.

Analyst certainly sees a merger as possible, although he was quick to note that neither firm is in a strong position. "In this case, one plus one could equal a 2.2 or 2.5."

The analyst adds that a combined firm would have more global clout and could also re-focus on core brands.

More soon.
