GSC Game World (creators of Cossacks in the past, among other games), have just signed a new deal with publisher who will be bring their forthcoming first-person horror game S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Oblivion Lost to the mass market.

S.T.A.L.K.E.R. will be out in 2004 and will make use of the X-Ray engine that allows for massive indoor/outdoor environments, real-time physics and the capability to push more than one million polygons per frame at 60 frames per second. According to GSC Game World.

"S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Oblivion Lost is an extremely unique game that seamlessly blends the genres of first person action, and role-playing into a single experience," gushed Jack Sorensen, executive vice president of worldwide studios at THQ. "This was truly one of the most talked about games at the recent Game Developers Conference and we are very excited to be working with GSC Game World as we move more aggressively into the high-end business."
