Activision has today promised American gamers that wireless guitar controllers for III: Legends of Rock should be on sale stateside from early 2008.

While and North America aren't poles-apart on the release date front, Acti couldn't say when the same wireless guitars would arrive on the continent - much to our inevitable dismay.

Presently, the new wireless controllers are only sold alongside copies of the game in rather pricey bundles; leaving gamers short on cash but desperate for a spot of next-gen rhythm-action fun somewhat in the cold. EA's rival title faces similar delays to the release of peripherals individually.

That said, Guitar Hero III does work a treat with most previous 360 and controllers. A Les Paul-style guitar is available for and 360, while the PS2 gets a Kramer-modelled rock-wand.

More on GH3 soon.
