The 08 Interactive appears to be gathering pace this week, with qualifying events for the tournament having concluded in Denmark, Holland and Hungary. Three lucky winners, one from each nation, emerged from the qualifiers over the weekend.

Online, more than 10,000 gamers have been battling it out in ranked matches since FIFA 08's arrival in October, and twenty further locations around the world are set to host qualifying events over the next few months.

Then, in late May, 32 finalists will jet over to Berlin where they will compete for the title of World Player 2008. The winner will earn 20,000 USD (no Euro-switch here, yet), and an invite to the FIFA World Player Gala 2008 is also up for grabs.

The tournament is open to gamers only, and you can get involved now.
