The Evening Standard is today reporting how a soldier caught his cheating wife thanks to a Mii indiscretion on his console. The soldier, 'Tony', returned from a tour of duty in Iraq to reports from friends that his wife had been cheating. Her denials were proved false when a suspect Mii avatar was found on his Wii console, which had been posted home a month prior to his return.

His wife claimed she had merely kissed the other man once in her husband's absence, but the Wii told another story. "All that changed when I plug in my Wii for some Wii Sports. I flip through the Wii menu and visit the Mii channel so I can peruse the many friends that I have created with the guys that I played with in Iraq. As I go through the characters I see there is a Mii that I have not created," explained Tony.

The suspect in question, a professional bowler, had been in his house more than once it transpires. "I went into the Wii message board and click on the calendar option. Through this menu I was able to identify the many nights my wife's Mii and this other Mii character played Wii bowling."

Divorce proceedings have begun.
