Warner paid 100m GBP for TT Games
A princely sum...
Lego game masterminds Traveller's Tales were last week acquired in a new deal with Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment, the UK based firm having already created the Lego Star Wars games with Batman and Indiana Jones based offerings also in the pipeline.
At the time of the take-over, no figures were mentioned, but it today emerges that Warner paid in the region of 100 million GBP for the developer, or about 200 million USD, if you prefer. The Manchester Evening News states that the deal was concluded after Warner landed some 500 million USD in investment from an Abu Dhabi-based fund.
Traveller's Tales has been part of TT Games since 2005, when the firm merged with Giant Interactive, and reports suggest founder Joe Burton could be in line to make a fortune, given that 80% of shares are in his name.
