The brand new Check Mii Out channel for the console will "go live" (oh yes) on the Wii Shop channel today, a quickfire release for British gamers given that the new channel only landed in the yesterday.

This comes after UK Wii gamers were last week told a wait was on the cards, after the announcement of the channel. Apparently, the new 'channel' is all about Miis, and sees players sharing, rating and ranking their customised avatars.

"The Check Mii Out Channel lets people show off their Mii creations and vote on those created by others," tells us. "In the Posting Plaza, users can submit, exchange or just browse Miis posted by others in their region or worldwide. The channel offers the ability to look at a random selection of 1,000 Miis or to see just the current or all-time favourites."

While it is offered via the shop, the channel is in fact free to download, with Ninty plotting special competitions and the like.
