US publisher today tells business site GamesIndustry.biz that their support of the platform via new games has been effected by the console makers inability to increase stock availability, and satiate intense demand for the innovative console. Speaking to investors, Midway revealed that games have been delayed while the publisher await stock improvements.

"The demand for Wii product has put a pretty big strain on Nintendo's production capacity, and that has in turn, for us, turned into longer lead times for some of our Wii products," vice president of publishing Miguel Iribarren revealed.

"And that, during the holidays - given product coming out in a short timeframe - has resulted, for us, in reduced ability to get product to shelves."

CEO David Zucker also revealed that early releases had suffered technical problems, including Stranglehold, but that such have now been overcome. More from Midway soon.
