The recent price drop for the 60GB and the new cheaper 40GB model have managed to achieve a tangible difference in retailers across the UK. Last week. Sales of Sony’s had a 178% bump! They even managed to beat the 360, which has consistently sold more than the PS3 since launch.

Whilst this news will no doubt be welcomed in of Europe, they still have a way to go before getting close to either of Nintendo’s machines, the and the DS. Nintendo’s approach a reasonable launch price and marketing to gamers, still seems to be doing them proud.

Also good to see, along with the increased numbers for PS3 the software have also increased. Games such as are suddenly appearing higher up the charts.

It will be interesting to see if responds to Sony’s cuts with any further reductions. More as we get it!
