Now the Orange box is out in the wild (apart from on the PS3), the reviews have started to come in. The various review aggregators have been busily working out what it all means in the wider scheme of things. Metacritic currently has Valve's masterpiece at 98, which is significant in that it beats both Bioshock and 3.

Review aggregating seems to be particularly in vogue right now, with both publishers and developers keen to see their products high up the charts.

Whilst it is impressive for the Orange Box to get such high scores, one has to wonder whether this is through the sheer weight of content. Bioshock's high score, that stands on the merits of a single game experience, seems more significant than Valve's high ranking compilation.

It is around now that we also turn our thoughts to game of the year. This of course may not correlate with the highest game on Metacritic. More on Orange Box scores as we get it.
