Sega have announced that you'll be able to play as your Mii avatar in each of the events in & at the Olympic Games. This news is sure to delight anyone who thought their chance of winning an Olympic medal was behind them and serve as a timely reminder that more games should make use of the systems Mii characters.

For those of you who were worried the highly disciplined nature of Olympic would take some of the fun out of proceedings have also revealed a special series of Dream Events. These promise to add more traditional gaming elements like power ups, strange environments and special moves to the mix while sitting alongside the more traditional events.

Dream Race for example sees you through the energy sapping Sandhill course. Dream Platform, on the other hand, is a diving event that starts 10,000 meters in the air and asks you to perform tricks and drop through hoops while dodging bad guys on your way to the bottom.

Fencing is also given a special move boost in Dream Fencing while special abilities are once again the order of the day in the sci-fi themed table event.

Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games is due out in on 23rd November for the Wii and on 28th January 2008 on the DS.
