Golden Joysticks a sell out
Award ceremony proves popular
We are fast approaching the Golden Joystick Awards. Whilst it may not be the most prestigious of events, it represents one of the longest standing video game awards in the industry. The award dates all the way back to 1982 when the Spectrum and Commodore 64 ruled the waves, and has been presented to the good and great in video gaming on a yearly basis ever since.
This year is their 25th anniversary and accordingly promises to be one of the biggest yet. Recent years have seen a return to form and popularity for the event, as they have managed to shake off their popularist reputation and become recognised as a significant measure of game quality and excellence.
The award this year has all but sold out. The last two tickets are to be auctioned off for charity. Bidding is likely to be pretty hot as this is now the only way to get through the door, if you are not yourself a nominee.
We'll be sure to bring you all the gossip and results on October 26, the night of the ceremony.
