Driver 3 arriving late
No on the Crimbo list any longer
Gamespot are reporting this morning that Infogrames' Driver 3, one of the only serious competitors to GTA, will no longer be with us at the end of this year, but in Spring 2004 instead. Apparently, developer Reflections have asked their publisher for more time to ensure the game is up to scratch.
The additional time will allow Reflections to ensure production values are at their highest possible, and that every detail of the apparently expansive design document is implemented. Atari (the Infogrames brand publishing the game) and all concerned are certainly aiming at more than a predictable sequel, it would seem.
