Sonic the Hedgehog 3 leads a charge of not three, not even four, but five new releases onto the Wii's in PAL-land today. And what's more, all of them are from Sega.

Sonic 3 promises a blend of the frantic platforming always associated with the blue one, coupled with vast levels and even a smattering of cut-scenes. Ghouls 'n' Ghosts is next out of the hat - a 2D platform title in which you assume the role of King Arthur in a bid to rescue the princess from zombies. Oh yes.

Next up is ESWAT: City Under Siege, where you'll be tasked with freeing a city from a crime wave. In a sort of Robocop style, you'll be upgrading your weapons and battling hordes of hoodlums along the way. But wait, there's more. Should you wish to you can also grab Shining in the Darkness, a dungeon-based where you'll be undertaking quests and of course battling vile monsters. turn-based battles are included.

Finally, there's Crack Down, which it is worth noting is nothing to do with the free-form title of the same name. It is in fact all about bombing alien bases to save the world. So there you go.

Eclectic, I believe is the word. All these titles are from the Megadrive, and all will cost you 800 points a go from the Store. Happy shopping.
