EA have today lifted the lid on their latest casual-styled social 'game' foray, with On Stage set to enable visitors the chance to record karaoke songs, add stories, comedy routines and other slices of life.

The Sims On Stage is billed as an interactive playground, giving visitors a stage from which, for the want of a better word, they can show off. The service is entering beta now and supports both and Macs.

EA are promising intuitive and accessible interfaces, allowing even novice gamers / social-networkers the chance to share their talents, and the publisher also promise that sharing will be just as simple as recording - allowing you the chance to broadcast your recordings to the world - should you so wish.

Several karaoke favourites from various genres will be included from the off, and it'll also be easy to share for the more adventurous among you.

"The Sims has long had one of the largest, friendliest and most creative communities in the world. With the release of On Stage, we welcome a new kind of customer to our way of having fun," enthused studio boss Rod Humble.

The new service is based on the SingShot Karaoke community acquired by earlier this year. More as we get it.
