Manhunt 2 set for Holland
Laws enforce personal choice
Having achieved a much-needed 'M' rating from the ESRB stateside, Rockstar's controversy courting horror title Manhunt 2 has also been given permission to launch in Holland, where Ministries refused to block the game's release - citing regional laws which allow responsible adults to make decisions about entertainment pursuits.
It is worth noting, however, that it is illegal for those under 16 to buy the game - with parents and retailers responsible for enforcing the age rating. Debating the much-discussed action title, Justice Minister Hirsch Ballin added to calls for an EU wide ratings system - in order to protect youngsters from inappropriate content.
A re-rating of the revised game provided by Manhunt 2 publisher Rockstar saw an M for Mature rating awarded stateside, meaning that Sony and Nintendo will allow the game to be released on their platforms.
An effective UK ban enforced by the BBFC remains in place, though Rockstar continue appeals against the decision.
