Kojima sees MGS4 fly at GC
Bosses, trailers, girls and, inevitably, the Xbox 360
Having been rather quiet of late, designer Hideo Kojima let-rip a new trailer and few fresh details on Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots in his Games Convention presentation yesterday.
New footage from the eagerly-awaited stealth-action title was revealed at the show, Kojima revealing his desire to create bosses even more menacingly powerful than those which featured in Metal Gear Solid 3. The veteran Konami man duly introduced us to the Beauty and the Beast unit - which feature four lovely ladies scarred by war and determined to give hero Solid Snake a very hard time of it.
The said beauties are based on real-life actresses and models, with Japanese actress Yumi Kikuchi taking to the stage to thank attendees, while Kojima showed how her face was mapped into the game. Lyndall Jarvis was also digitised in a similar fashion, with the bad girls set to resemble a wolf, an octopus, a raven, and a mantis.
Answering questions about Metal Gear Solid Online, Kojima revealed that some aspects will certainly be included in parts of MGS4, but said a decision had yet to be made on whether all of the title would be bundled thusly. The Konami team also denied that an Xbox 360 version of the title is on the way... "for now." Finally, Kojima affirmed his desire for force-feedback functionality, describing the plight of the decidedly bored 'rumble guy' on his development team.
More on Metal Gear Solid 4 just as soon as we can extract it.
