Servers were said to be down for several hours yesterday, leaving gamers hanging-on just that little longer for the eagerly-awaited and critically adored title. Naturally, 2K's forums were flooded with grumbling gamers, unable to play the game without initial server access, while even 2K Games' website has been suffering amid the technical problems.

2K Games Australia assure that they are hard at work on the problem, and have already added fresh server capacity in order to cope with the intense demand the title is enjoying.

In related news, the launch of BioShock this week has boosted Take-Two's share price, stock closing up 21% on Tuesday, to close at 14.55 USD. "While we were impressed by the quality of Bioshock, we are concerned that investors' expectations may be getting carried away. While many initially expected Bioshock to be a modest hit and sell 500,000 to 1 million units, it now seems clear to us that it may sell in the 1.5-2.0 million unit range. However, with the stock up over 20 percent in the last few days, we have heard of expectations in the 3-4 million unit range, which we believe are unrealistic," analyst Todd Greenwald cautioned.
