Yet more GC-Leipzig celebrating news hot-off the e-press, with word reaching us that Electronic Arts latest installment will incorporate ambitious 10 player matches on next-gen consoles.

Five-versus-five matches between competing teams will be enabled by a new feature set for inclusion in FIFA 08, Be A Pro: Online Team Play, that will enable up to 10 players to duke it out anywhere in the world. The feature will be offered on the and 360, though won't be bundled in the initial September 28th release, instead coming as a downloadable update six to eight weeks after launch.

Using the new Be A Pro mode will see players assuming the role of one fixed player, who must then play his part in an organised team effort. The mode promises an incredibly authentic experience.

Users will receive real time feedback and analysis on the fly and a unique camera angle will keep both player and in focus, zooming in when you’re on the ball. Competing or allied players can be on different consoles, we're told, while online users will also be able to mix in free roaming players, too.

"At SPORTS our dream is to create a full 11 versus 11 online gameplay experience in which each user will have a set position during the match and train specifically for that position," revealed Joe Booth, Producer of FIFA 08. "Be A Pro is the first step in this direction, and now, with the ability to deliver five versus five online gameplay as free downloadable content, we are moving even closer towards the realization of this dream."

"Be A Pro forces you to think and react like a professional player where you experience the whole range of emotions players go through during the course of a game," explained Andrew Wilson, Executive Producer of FIFA 08. "Now we are taking this experience online for you to share with your friends. You will have to learn to work together as a team much like any real teams go through in order to be successful."

More on this soon.
