Viking: Battle for Asgard revealed by Sega
Out in early 2008
As rumoured last week, Sega have this week lifted the lid on Viking: Battle for Asgard, which will be heading to the Xbox 360 and PS3 in early 2008 - developed by the UK's Creative Assembly.
The new hack 'n' slash title is based on Norse mythology and will make use of an advanced new game engine, which will deliver plenty of dismemberment as part of a detailed combat mechanic. Assuming the role of a brave Viking, you'll also be able to command various beasties and armies of allies.
Assuming the role of hero Skarin you'll be charged with defending Midgard from the goddess Hel and her army of undead Viking nasties. Huge, rich landscapes are said to be on the agenda, alongside various quests, as players choose in what manner to get involved in the huge battles expected.
More on Viking: Battle for Asgard should emerge at the Games Convention 2007 in Leipzig, this week.
