Blu-ray blow for Sony
Studios defect to HD-DVD camp

Blu-ray will be spurned by the studios on a worldwide basis, both firms explaining their belief that HD-DVD is the best option for consumers. Blades of Glory will be followed by Transformers and Shrek the Third, according to the latest news.
"We decided to release 'Shrek the Third' and other DreamWorks Animation titles exclusively on HD-DVD because we believe it is the best format to bring high quality home entertainment to a key segment of our audience - families," explained big cheese Jeffrey Katzenberg.
"I believe HD-DVD is not only the affordable high quality choice for consumers, but also the smart choice for Paramount," added exec Brad Grey.
Paramount have, in the past, released movies on Blu-ray, while Dreamworks have supported neither format in the past. More hardware wars as we get it.
