Xbox 360 cut in Europe, UK
New pricing from Friday
As widely predicted, Microsoft Europe has followed in the footsteps of North America and Australia by cutting the price of the Xbox 360 in the region.
From August 24th, the 20GB Premium console will cost 349.99 Euro (249.99 GBP, in the UK), 50 Euro less than presently. 20 Euro was also wiped off the price of a Core system, which falls to 279.99 Euro (or 179.99 GBP in the UK we're told).
The Xbox 360 Elite will also land in Europe come August 24th, this Friday, and will cost 299.99 GBP in the UK (449.99 Euro across the continent), and will come complete with a 120GB hard disk, HDMI support, a play & charge kit, and a black finish.
"We’re pleased to be able to offer Xbox 360 at a new, lower estimated retail price," enthused Stephen McGill, Head of Gaming & Entertainment, Xbox UK. "We pioneered the successful concept of multiple products for multiple categories of consumer. First-timers will love the Xbox 360 Core system, which offers an affordable entry into high-definition gaming. The Xbox 360 Elite, with its large hard drive and wireless controller, will appeal to casual and experienced gamers and families. The Xbox 360 opens up whole new avenues of entertainment for those who seek the ultimate gaming and entertainment experience."
