With rumours already abound that will announce a European price cut for the at Leipzig next month, we today hear gossip that are also plotting a reduction for August - though Microsoft refuse to comment presently.

The Hollywood Reporter claim Microsoft will confirm a 50 USD price cut on August 8th, though these reports remain unverified. A price cut would help the platform holder's Leipzig showing go with a swing, and would pave the way for exclusive August 24th releases Blue Dragon and BioShock. is also due out stateside in the same week.

Sony have already cut 100 USD off the price of the 60gb PS3 stateside, introducing an 80gb game/console bundle at the former 599 USD price point. Over the pond in Europe, however, and we're so far only being treated to a special 'starter pack' bundle.
