Leipzig PS3 price cut rumoured
Sony refuse to comment on GC gossip
Reports today from industry tome MCV hint that Sony Computer Entertainment Europe might be planning to announce a new price cut for the PlayStation 3 console at next month's Games Convention event taking place in Leipzig, Germany.
Word has it that the platform holder will also unveil European plans for a video-on-demand service and Freeview TV feature as part of the expansion of the PS3's online offerings. Indeed, we also hear that Sony will roll out such video services across the continent by the end of the year.
Speculation regarding the PAL pricing of the console continues to rage, despite the introduction of a better value Starter Pack, which includes two games and a second controller - all for the same price as Sony originally set, covering just the console and one controller.
Naturally, Sony won't been drawn on such chatter, but we'll keep our noses to the ground for more.
